Farm Cottage
At Farm Cottage you will discover complete relaxation with spell binding views of open farmland, woodland and Lough Erne. The cottage is located on its own, set back from the lough, on top of the hill, with its own private access lane – you can already sense the splendid peace and quiet! With Lough Erne, the jewel in Fermanagh's crown, nearby you will be impressed with the tranquility and stunning views which are yours to enjoy. In Portagaria Wood itself, where there are 4 further cottages in a small hamlet, you can stroll through an area of outstanding natural beauty. Whilst located outside of Portagaria Wood and on its own, our Farm Cottage guests benefit from all of the facilities of Portagaria Wood. This peace and quiet makes for a dream Irish holiday – it simply has to be experienced!

Canadian Writer Jane McCoy stayed at Farm Cottage and published a newspaper article“What we found in the cottage exceeded our expectations. As we entered we found a spacious, fully equipped country kitchen with a lovely open hearth fireplace. The large reception room was tastefully decorated and comfortably furnished with a view across the farmyard of Lough Erne, its islands and the soft green hills beyond. There was also a flat-screen TV, stereo equipment, a pretty wood burning stove and patio doors opening onto a deck with table and chairs. The four bedrooms upstairs and the downstairs double bedroom with large ensuite were all exceptionally comfortable, well furnished and decorated. We discovered during our stay, the Lowrys run an exceptionally tight ship with regards to quality assurance and upkeep: the kitchen cupboards held absolutely everything one might need when self-catering and everything sparkled; the wood-burning stove in the lounge and the kitchen fireplace provided cheerful blazes in the autumn evenings. We lacked for nothing.Put all of this comfort and aesthetic appeal into the most tranquil, lush green lovely landscape one could imagine, where the only sounds that disturb the peace are the lowing of cattle in the fields or the co-co-co-rico of the wood pigeons in the surrounding Portagaria Wood, and you have the Irish Cottages." |

Pets
We do not allow pets at Irish Cottages. The surrounding fields have livestock in them and even the best behaved dogs get muddy and climb on the furniture from time to time. We are all very aware these days of the increasing numbers of people who suffer from asthma and allergies. To these ends we have a no pets policy at Irish Cottages, so please don’t ask if you can bring your pet, as our refusal can offend and we don’t wish to offend. Many thanks for your understanding.
